Holy Cow by David Duchovny
(Yes, I know, I promised this ages ago…but it’s here now!)
This is the story of Elsie Bovary, a cow on a farm. For a long time she is happy on this farm doing her thing with the other cows until she discovers what life on the farm really means for animals like her. This leaves her with only one option and that is to escape.
I adored this book (I also adore David Duchovny…so…yeah…no bias here)!!!
It was completely insane and hilarious. It was a quick read and fairly easy read, great for those of us with packed schedules, desperately trying to find time to fill the reading void. I laughed. I cried. I grinned stupidly in public. And I will definitely read this book again. All of the antics and the situations that the animals find themselves are are just down right crazy. This whole book was crazy. But I loved it!!! I do suggest forgetting any semblance of reality while reading this book and just going along for the ride.
Though I do feel that as wild and unbelievable as many of the situations are, the book does offer the reader something about our society and culture today. It’s silly and thought provoking…a two for one deal!

So I haven’t been a good about updating this blog (or my tumblr) as I had hoped I would be….woops… Finals were insane then there was graduation and now summer classes… So to say I’ve been busy might be an understatement. But everything is starting to slow down and I’m going to return to doing my book reviews and other posts very soon!!!
Only four hours left and I can feel myself fading…sleep beckons to me!
I’m starting to get super goofy now. Delirious! Oh lord… this is going to be a long four hours. I’m almost done with my second book. Truly, I am. I’m a little disappointed that I haven’t read more but not really at the same time. Combined the two books equal out to about 600 pages…I think that’s good. After this I’m switching to graphic novels to give myself some sort of break.
Fool Moon and coffee in my banned books mug ^_^
Be Fit Readers
I’ve been getting up and moving all day. I did just take the dog out for a walk around the yard and will do so again here soon, I’m sure. And I’m sure I’ll also be up and dancing around again at some point. There’s only so long I can stay sitting lol!! Make sure to move everyone! It’ll keep you from being extra achy tomorrow.
1. What are you reading right now?
Still on Fool Moon by Jim Butcher
2. How many books have you read so far?
About one and a half. I kept getting distracted there for awhile and lost my groove but it’s back now!
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
It’s a toss up between Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman and Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. I’ve wanted to read both for awhile so we’ll see which ones I actually get to.
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
I kept getting distracted there for a little bit but I just kind of rolled with it. No harm in that. And I’ve had some car issues that were brought to my attention but not much can be done about it right now, so again, I just rolled with it.
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
How fast time has gone. I feel like I’ve only been up and at it for a couple hours…not 12!!! Though the coffee might be to blame for that…or getting distracted lol.
